Collection acquired from Martin Batiuk in 2006.
Ivan Czuy (1888-1978), born in Zhulin, Ukraine, immigrated to Winnipeg in Canada in 1914, later entered the United States and settled in Chicago in 1918. Also lived and worked in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio, and New York City. During the 1920s and 1930s, Czuy performed on stage and directed choirs in the Ukrainian American community, especially in Cleveland and New York.
