Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, New Jersey), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2012. Gristel Ramler and Tiina Trumberg of the National Archives in Tallinn, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.


Luise Kibuvits (nee Wahlman, Veelmann), born 7. Feb 1907, Raasiku, Harjumaa county, Estonia. Died 4. July 2003. Graduated from a gymnasium in Tallinn (Tallinna linna tütarlaste gümnaasium) in 1926, 1928 graduated from Tallinn Women's Vocational School where she had studied home economics. In 1928 also graduated from a course in Tallinn Pedagogical Institute. Emigrated to Germany in 1944. 1944-1946 lived in Oldenburg, Germany. 1946-1952 lived in London, England, 1946 started working in the King George V Hospital in Surrey, from 1950 worked as a ward orderly in Tooting Beck Hospital in London. From 1952 lived in Vancouver, Canada. Luise worked as a nurse aide in the Vancouver General Hospital. She became the citizen of Canada in 1957. First husband: Karl Johannes Kukk Born 2. June 1903. Estonian army officer, served as the head of the Engineer Battalion 2nd company, arrested in 14. June 1941, died in Norilsk 23. Nov 1942. Luise and Karl Johannes married in 18. Nov. 1933. Second husband: August Kibuvits, born 13. Dec in Harjumaa, Estonia. Luise and August married in 6. May, 1952. 1952-1963 Father: Jüri Wahlman, born 02. June 1872 Mother: Julia-Maria (nee Petersen), born 01. July 1880 Brother: Juhan Veelma/Johannes Veelmann, born 19. March 1904 Brother: Artur
