Collection acquired from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A., Lakewood, New Jersey, in 2003-2005. It was processed in May 2013 by Peeter Väljas and Aet Tran-Tõnissoo of the National Archives of Estonia in Tallinn, working with IHRC Archivist Daniel Necas.


Heino Susi (pseudonym: Erik Virbsoo; Heino S. Hunt) writer, biochemist (born 1925 Tallinn - died 1987 Ambler, Pennsylvania, in 1988 buried on Tallinn Metsakalmistu cemetary) Studied in Tallinn J. Westholmi gymnasium, 1943 fled to Finland to avoid the mobilization into the German army, joined Estonian infantry regiment of Finnish army, 1944 returned to Estonia, was mobilized to German army, POW in Tchecoslovakia and Germany. In Germany studied in Hamburg Univerity (1946), graduated from Technische Hochschule in Aachen in 1950. 1950 moved to USA, studied in University of Oklahoma and in Purdue University (In.) mag. 1952, dr. Phil 1955. Worked as scientist in Eastern Regional Research Center of U.S. Department of Agriculture (1955); Drexel Institute of Technology (Philadelphia, PA, US), asst. Prof. (1965 - 1971); Bryn Mawr College, lector (1966) Organizations: American Chemical Society , member;Society for Applied Spectroscopy (USA), member; Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies, member; E.E.L.K. Philadelphia Kogudus (USA) , chairman; EÜS Põhjala, member; Eesti Rahvuskomitee Ühendriikides (ERKÜ) = Estonian American National Council, member; journal "Vaba Eesti" (Sweden), member of editorial board. From 1970 published several novels based on personal experiences during WW II.
