The Finnish-American Translators Association (FATA) was incorporated in 1989 as a nonprofit organization by a group interested in "promoting and facilitating the translation of literary and informative subject matters from and to the Finnish language." In addition to supporting and encouraging the publication of Finnish translations in journals and other publications, the association publishes an Annual of translations by its members.
