HISTORICAL SKETCH


DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

The Michael and Nadia Karkoc Papers consist of 26 notebooks of correspondence (USA, Canada, Europe, Ukraine); memoirs, correspondence, minutes and documents of Ukrainian political and community organizations and publishers (in USA and Europe) such OUN, ODWU, UCCA and others; articles in various Ukrainian newspapers pertaining to events in the Ukrainian American community and Ukraine (in particular the Orange Revolution); material pertaining to various Ukrainian churches in the Twin Cities; and photographs. Inventory available (in Ukrainian).

In adddition to the three linear feet of processed materials, there are 2 linear feet of records of similar nature from a separate accession that have been only preliminarily organized and described. The donation also contains 3 linear feet of Ukrainian American print material - newspapers and serials to be processed and catalogued.
