A realtor and activist in Ukrainian American affairs, Stephen Kuropas (1900- ) was born in Peremysl, Ukraine, and came to the United States ca. 1929 after serving in various military units during World War II and after. He settled in Chicago, Illinois. Kuropas maintained membership in numerous Ukrainian American organizations including the Ukrainian National Association. He was a regular contributor to Svoboda, editor of Samostiina Ukraina, and a contributor to Ukraintsi u Vilnomu Sviti, J. C.
