Archival records of the Order Sons of Italy in America (Ordine figli d'Italia in America) began arriving in the IHRC in 1985.
The Order Sons of Italy in America was founded in New York City in 1905. Its national office remained in Manhattan until the mid 1950s, when it was moved to Philadelphia. In 1981 the office was relocated in a new building in Washington, DC. The Order is the largest and oldest Italian fraternal organization in the United States.
