HISTORICAL SKETCH

Herman Piirto and Hedvig Sophie Vahakorpi were both born in 1875 in Finland. They immigrated to the U.S., and were married in Ishpeming, Michigan, in 1900. They had twelve children together, whose lives (and those of their children) are detailed in the book.
