| Abstract: | Collection consists of materials pertaining to the history of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, the Ukrainian Folk Ballet of the Twin Cities, the local chapter of the Ukrainian Youth League of North America and other activities of immigrants from Ukraine in the Minneapolis / St. Paul metropolitan area of Minnesota. Church bulletins and ledger, correspondence, photographs, typescripts of articles by Mary Siemon, newpaper clippings, event flyers and brochures. Included is also a set of lantern slides depicting life in Japan in the early 20th century. | |

Collection donated by Mari Siemon (daughter of Mary [Anderson] Siemon) of Seattle in 2011.
Mary Siemon was born in 1919 in Minneapolis. Her father was Peter Anderson (formerly Petro Andrushchak, b. 1894) who immigrated to the United States in 1910 from Ukraine. He was among the founders of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in 1913. Mary Siemon was active in the parish as well as in the theatre group "Drama Circle" formed by the young members of the congregation.
